In March 2018, Chef Heinz Beck was awarded an honorary doctorate degree in naturopathy (natural remedies and medicine) by Italy’s University of Arezzo.
A firm believer in ideas such as “food is the best medicine” and “gastronomy and health,” Chef Beck has collaborated on research with academics and nutritionists for many years. The honorary degree recognizes him as possessing knowledge of the subject that is at least equivalent to a graduate of the program. It is extremely rare for a chef to obtain such a qualification.
